Students Need Options for Career & Technical Education
For too long our national education system has been stuck in a rut, geared toward funneling students into expensive four-year colleges and universities -- even if those students don't need or want a four-year degree.
There are so many good-paying family-wage jobs that can be filled by workers who've gotten a solid education and training in career technical skills. That's why the state Senate yesterday approved a Republican-sponsored resolution asking the Idaho State Department of Education and Board of Education to offer more flexible graduation requirements for high school students who want to pursue career technical education.
You can read the whole resolution here.
